You've probably seen QR Codes around and know that they have information embedded in them such as Web sites, locations and e-mail addresses. Since smart phones with the ability to scan these QR Codes (or matrix barcodes) are now more common, many business and individuals have started to encode their own information. This article will show you how to create your own QR Codes using an Android app called "Barcode Generator/Reader".
Steps
- 1Search for "barcode" in the Play Store app. Select the "Barcode Generator/reader" option towards the bottom of the screen.
- 2Click "Install", Then, click "open" to open it.
- 3Click on the dropdown menu that says "text" in the barcode app.
- 4Select the type for what you want to embed in your barcode. For example, select "URL" if you want the barcode to lead to a website.
- 5Type your site in the textbox and then click on "Generate".
- 6Click "Save" to save the barcode you generated the way it's currently displayed. You can also click "share" to send it to your friends.
Tips
Warnings
- Don't encode information that is too personal if you plan on sharing it with the Internet in general.
