Keeping an eye on your cellular data usage is a good idea to avoid running out of allocated data from your carrier or incurring fees or when you are deciding how much data you need a cellphone plan to include.

EditSteps

  1. 1
Tap the Settings icon on your iPhone’s Home screen to launch the Settings app.

  2. 2
    Tap General.

  3. 3
    Tap Usage.

  4. 4
Scroll down and tap Cellular Usage.

  5. 5
The amount of Cellular and Tether data used is shown. Tap Reset Statistics to reset all values to zero.

EditTips

  • Cellular Usage is wireless data you’ve used for web browsing, email and more that was provided by your carrier and not a Wi-Fi network.
  • Tether Data is data used while your iPhone has been connected to another device using the Personal Hotspot feature.
  • To calculate how much data you use over a period of time, tap the Reset Statistics button and then check the data you have used from that point onward at a specified time.
